The World Will Always Remember September 11
The American Cathedral of Paris hosted a "Liturgy of Remembrance and Hope" which will began following the singing of the French national anthem at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, followed by the U.S. anthem and remarks by the Ambassador. French and American color guards presented the flags. Representatives of the French police and fire fighters, American citizens and others lit candles for each country that lost citizens in the September 11 attacks while the list of countries was read in English and French. Prayers and an anthem followed. Service concluded with singing of "America the Beautiful."
