The World Will Always Remember
U.S. Embassy New Delhi
Embassy New Delhi held a special memorial service the afternoon of December 11 to commemorate the third month anniversary of the September 11 tragedy. Over two hundred mission members, American and Indian, gathered at Roosevelt House, the Ambassador's residence, to mark the tragic three-month anniversary of the attacks in New York and Washington. In a solemn, 15-minute ceremony, the Indian and then U.S. national anthems played, after which Ambassador Blackwill and Indian Acting Foreign Secretary Shashank made brief remarks. The service closed with the playing of Taps.
