Reducing Lead Poisoning

Reducing childhood lead poisoning from exposure to lead paint is a top priority for the Bush Administration. EPA and the Departments of Housing and Urban Development and Justice recently announced the largest legal action ever taken against violators of the lead paint disclosure law. The Administration has awarded $67 million in grants to states and communities to eliminate lead hazards in low-income housing, promote educational programs, and conduct research on lead hazards.
