President George W. Bush, joined by members of the Hubbard family, signs H.R. 6580, The Hubbard Act, Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 in the Oval Office of the White House. Also joining the President is Rep. Jim Costa, D-Calif., right of President Bush, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., right rear, and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England, far right. The Hubbard Act is named in honor of brothers Jared and Nathan Hubbard , who lost their lives serving our country in Iraq. Their brother, Jason Hubbard, was discharged from the Army as a sole survivor but was denied separation benefits. H.R. 6580 will provide sole survivors a number of benefits already offered to other soldiers honorably discharged from military service. White House photo by Chris Greenberg
