This year's tree is an 18-foot Noble Fir from the Hedlund Christmas Farm in Elma, Washington.
The work begins by hanging lights on the White House Christmas tree.
Volunteers carefully place red and gold balls and hundreds of hand-crafted bird ornaments on the White House Christmas tree. From turkeys to cardinals, artisans from across the country chose birds native to their state to create a White House ornament.
After the completion of the White House tree, volunteers celebrate with hugs and cheers.
