From hanging the lights to lighting the President's portrait, staff and volunteers transform the stately Blue Room into a place glistening with holiday cheer. Each year the chandelier in the Blue Room is removed to make way for the White House Christmas tree.
This year's tree is an 18-foot Noble Fir from the Hedlund Christmas Farm in Elma, Washington.
The work begins by hanging lights on the White House Christmas tree.
