Leadership and Opportunity in Africa
President George W. Bush and President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti greet the press during a meeting in the Oval Office Jan. 21, 2003.

President Bush and President Guelleh discussed the issues affecting the common interests of the United States and Djibouti. The President thanked President Guelleh and the Djiboutian people for their continued cooperation on the global war on terrorism. The President announced that the United States will open a USAID office in Djibouti to more effectively address both humanitarian and development efforts.
