Ready to Re-enlist

Date: 09/20/2001 01:22 PM EDT
From: Michael
To: President George W. Bush
Subject:Ready to Re-enlist

Dear Mr. President,

Hello, sir. My name is Michael. I want to tell you how proud I am to be an American. I am a former marine who is now 35. I would love to re-enlist, but I am too old.

Well, I am not too old or too young to realize how proud I am to be an American. Sir, I would give my life without a second thought to defend this great country. I would give my life to defend my President. I would give my life to keep my family safe.

I am writing this with tears in my eyes. Tears of American pride, love and mourning. God bless us all and if you and the nation need me, I would love to go back. I think I speak for all Americans, we are behind you. I have faith in God, my country and my President. No one can ever take that away from me no matter what they do.

God Bless America and let justice prevail.

Sincerely,
Michael
Palmyra, New Jersey
