Russia’s outgoing Ambassador to the United States, Yuriy Ushakov, paid a farewell courtesy call on the President on June 6, 2008. With over nine years of service in Washington, Ambassador Ushakov is the longest serving post-Soviet Russian Ambassador to the United States. He has played a critical role in increasing mutual understanding between the United States and Russia and advancing the U.S.-Russia partnership to face the global challenges of the 21st century.
