Vice President's Remarks to Soldiers of the First Cavalry Division
Vice President Dick Cheney delivers remarks Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, during a rally for the troops of the First Cavalry Division and Three Corps at Fort Hood, Texas. In expressing his appreciation of the troops' service in Iraq the Vice President said, "Whatever your future holds, you can always take satisfaction in the accomplishments of the past 15 months. You were there for America." He added, "As Vice President -- and more than that, as a citizen of this country -- I'm proud to look you in the eye to express my deep gratitude and total respect."
