During his address to the Class of 2006, the first to enter the Academy following the attacks of 9/11, the Vice President said, "We look at you and we see the best that is in our country. In your careers you will serve in a fleet like none other that has ever sailed before. You are part of a Navy and Marine Corps that uphold the noblest of traditions. You serve under a flag that stands for freedom, and human rights, and stability in a turbulent world."
