We honor this leader of distinction for his 37 years of commissioned service; for his lifetime of achievement; and for the sterling example he leaves to us all." The institute will be comprised of clinicians and scientists in the departments of Cardiology, Radiology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Pharmacology among others, and will pursue a multi-disciplinary approach to the advancement of research, education and the clinical care of cardiovascular diseases.

Cheney Cardiovascular Institute at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The Institute's mission is to promote clinical research, education, patient care and community service with the goal of accelerating the pace of scientific discovery, reducing mortality and improving the quality of life of Americans with cardiovascular disease.
