  2. BILL TITLE: California Trail Interpretive Act

  3. BILL PURPOSE: (1) Establishes the California Trail Interpretive Center near Elko, Nevada; (2) Authorizes the conveyance of National Forest System lands to public school districts for educational purposes; (3) Provides for a study of the Golden Spike/Crossroads of the West Heritage Area Study near Ogden, Utah; and (4) Establishes the West Historic District in Ogden, Utah.

  4. OMB ESTIMATE: P.L.106-577 authorizes the acceptance of donations from the state of Nevada, Elko County, and the city of Elko to build the proposed interpretive center. Cash donations received can be spent without further appropriation. A lag is expected between the receipt of the donations and the spending of the money.
