Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and has nominated one individual to serve in his Administration.
The President has nominated Elisebeth C. Cook, of Virginia, to be Assistant Attorney General (Legal Policy). Ms. Cook currently serves as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice. Prior to this, she served as Counselor in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice. Earlier in her career, she served as Associate at Cooper & Kirk, PLLC. Ms. Cook received her bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago and her JD from Harvard Law School.
The President intends to nominate Marianne M. Myles, of New York, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Cape Verde. Ms. Myles, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, currently serves as Director of the Office of Recruitment, Examination, and Employment at the Department of State. Prior to this, she served as Director of the Diplomatic Readiness Task Force at the Department of State. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of the Office of Aviation Negotiations in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. Ms. Myles received her bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and her master's degrees from the National Defense University and Harvard University.
