Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced that he has named five individuals to serve in his Administration.

The President has named David M. Clark to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel. Mr. Clark recently served as a Special Assistant to the President in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Director in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Staff and Director of Government and Industry Affairs at the National Transportation Safety Board. Mr. Clark received his bachelor's degree from Indiana State University.

The President has named John P. Bailey to be Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy. Mr. Bailey recently served as a Senior Policy Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Mr. Bailey received his bachelor's degree from Dickinson College.

The President has named Therese Burch to be Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Advance. Ms. Burch recently served as Senior Advance Representative in the Office of Presidential Advance. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Community and Special Events in the Office of the Mayor of New York.

The President has named Christopher Papagianis to be Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy. Mr. Papagianis recently served as an Associate Director of the Domestic Policy Council. He received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University.

The President has named Michael Y. Scudder, Jr. to be Senior Associate Counsel to the President, National Security Council Legal Adviser and General Counsel. Mr. Scudder recently served as an Associate Counsel to the President. Mr. Scudder received his bachelor's degree from Saint Joseph's College and his JD from the Northwestern University School of Law.
