Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush announced today that he has named four individuals to serve in his Administration:

The President has named Marc Thiessen to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Speechwriting. Mr. Thiessen recently served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Speechwriting. Prior to this, he served as Director of Speechwriting at the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Earlier in his career, he served as Press Spokesman at the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Mr. Thiessen received his bachelor's degree from Vassar College.

The President has named Martha Miller to be Special Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel. Ms. Miller recently served as Associate Director of the Office of Presidential Personnel. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The President has named David Trulio to be Special Assistant to the President and Executive Secretary of the Homeland Security Council. Mr. Trulio recently served as Deputy Executive Secretary of the Homeland Security Council. He received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University, his JD from Columbia University School of Law, and his MBA from Harvard University.

The President has named Dennis C. Wilder to be Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for East Asian Affairs of the National Security Council. Mr. Wilder recently served as Acting Senior Director for East Asian Affairs of the National Security Council. He received his bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College and his master's degree from Georgetown University.
