Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint seven individuals to serve in his Administration:
The President intends to nominate John G. Emling, of Pennsylvania, to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. Mr. Emling currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the Department of Treasury. Prior to this, he served as Chief of Staff for United States Representative Eric Cantor, Chief Deputy Majority Whip. He also served as a Policy Analyst for the Senate Republican Policy Committee. Earlier in his career, Mr. Emling served as Deputy Director for the Congressional & Intergovernmental Affairs Division at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Mr. Emling received his bachelor's degree from Villanova University.
The President intends to appoint William M. Murphy, of California, to be a Member of the Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, for the remainder of a four-year term expiring April 19, 2006 and an additional four-year term expiring April 19, 2010. The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Visitors to the United States Air Force Academy:
Gail A. Jaquish, of Nevada, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 30, 2008
A.J. Scribante, of Kansas, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 30, 2006
Jackie Winters, of Oregon, for the remainder of a three-year term expiring December 30, 2008
The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the United States Section of the United States-Mexico Border Health Commission:
Antonio Falcon, of Texas
Bruce D. San Filippo, of New Mexico
Cecilia Rosales, of Arizona
