Statement on House and Senate Resolutions

On Tuesday, August 2, 2005, the President signed into law:

H.J.Res. 59, which expresses the sense of the Congress with respect to women suffragists who fought and won the right to vote in the United States.

H.R. 38, which designates specified segments of the White Salmon River and Cascade Creek in the State of Washington as components of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

H.R. 481, which requires that land to be conveyed to the Unites States by certain tribes is to be held in trust for the tribes in order to further the establishment of the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site.

H.R. 541, which directs the Department of Agriculture to convey specified land to Lander County, Nevada, and the Department of the Interior to convey specified land to Eureka County, Nevada, for use as cemeteries.

H.R. 794, which changes the south boundary of the Colorado River Indian Reservation in Arizona to restore land to the reservation.

H.R. 1046, which allows the Department of the Interior to enter into long-term contracts with the city of Cheyenne, Wyoming, for the storage of the city's water for municipal and industrial use.

S. 571, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1915 Fulton Street in Brooklyn, NY, as the Congresswoman Shirley A. Chisholm Post Office Building.

S. 775, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 123 W. 7th Street in Holdenville, OK, as the Boone Pickens Post Office.

S. 904, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1560 Union Valley Road in West Milford, NJ, as the Brian P. Parrello Post Office Building.

H.R. 3045, the Dominican Republic-Central America-United States Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act.
