Trafficking Prevention Centers Serve Ukrainian Women

Trafficking Prevention Centers in Ukraine have helped 44,850 women gain job skills, and 5,040 women find work or receive promotions after participating in training programs. The centers have helped create 176 new businesses and train 26,149 women on preventing trafficking in persons or domestic violence awareness. These centers operate hotlines and offer referral services for health, legal issues, and psychological counseling. The centers - which opened in 1998 - also work with women's organizations to provide job skills, legal training, legal consulting services, and a public education campaign.
