From remarks by Counselor to the President Bartlett 2/3/05
President Bush views his upcoming trip to Europe as an opportunity for high-level consultations and discussion about the issues of the day.
More unites America and our allies in Europe than divides us on the issues that are critical to not only the United States and Europe but other countries throughout the world.
We share a common agenda to bring peace and security throughout the world.
President Bush views this trip as an opportunity to speak directly to the European people about not only his belief and his agenda, but also to listen and hear from leaders from Europe and talk to them about their views and about their items on their agendas.
Likewise, President Bush hopes it will be an opportunity to find common ground and to pursue common interests in the next four years.
President Bush has made America's relationship with Russia one of his top foreign policies. This trip will give the President a chance to talk about a range of issues, including the war on terror and those that relate to the American-Russian economic trade relationship.
