S. Africa Teaches Parents How to Talk to Kids About AIDS
Fact of the Day

South Africa - with the help of the U.S. government - has launched a nationwide campaign called "Talk to Me" to help parents discuss HIV/AIDS with their children. The program uses a character named Kami from the South African version of the children's program "Sesame Street." The campaign consists of radio programs in five languages featuring real conversations about HIV/AIDS between parents and their children. It will conclude on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1, with a one-hour special.
