U.S. Transport African Troops to Darfur
Fact of the Day

The African Union is sending forces to Darfur, and the United States is helping these troops get there. The United States' airlift support mission begins tomorrow as U.S. C-130 planes transport a 50-person Nigerian advance force to Darfur. This will be followed by an airlift of Rwandan troops and equipment. The airlift is expected to continue for two weeks. These measures will help African nations in their efforts to ensure stability on their continent and stem a major humanitarian crisis.
