Refugee Children Claim a Voice in Africa's Future
Fact of the Day
Young African refugees are claiming a voice in their futures by reporting for a unique radio program. "Ejo Bite?" or "How about the future?" is a Voice of America program that broadcasts news, feature stories, and radio dramas produced by children in refugee camps. The children learn journalism techniques to conduct interviews and prepare weekly programs with a special interest for youth in their regions. The radio show gives African youth a voice to identify problems and search for solutions, providing hope to children whose lives have been ravished by conflict and disease.
