Basketball Stars Teaching Life Lessons
Fact of the Day
Former Georgetown basketball stars Omari Faulkner and Courtland Freeman are traveling the world teaching basketball clinics, attending student events, and meeting with sports and city officials. In Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Central and South America, they received large, warm receptions. Some 1,400 young people flocked to events during the Eastern European leg of the tour, 3,000 in Central and South America, and 500 in a single Turkish city alone. Media attention has been huge. The worldwide tour uses basketball as a vehicle for dialogue, teaching young people skills that will serve them both on the basketball court and in life.
