Global Message
Prime Minister Blair has launched a fund worth almost $300 million, part of which will help children whose parents have died from AIDS. The project is part of a new plan to tackle the disease in the developing world.
Prime Minister Blair launched the strategy at a Downing Street breakfast with women and young people who are living with AIDS or have been made vulnerable by the disease.
Prime Minister Blair described his personal commitment to providing global leadership to tackle AIDS by stating that ignoring the issue is simply not an option.
The United Kingdom is committed to achieving the internationally agreed target of halting the spread of HIV/AIDS by 2015 and beginning to reverse its spread.
