Personnel Announcement

March 25, 2004

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and appoint five individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Thomas Charles Krajeski, of Virginia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Yemen. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Mr. Krajeski currently serves as Director of the Office of Northern Gulf Affairs for the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Earlier in his career, he served as Principal Officer and Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Mr. Krajeski earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts.

The President intends to nominate Michele J. Sison, of Maryland, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the United Arab Emirates. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ms. Sison currently serves as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the State Department's Bureau of South Asian Affairs. She previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. Ms. Sison earned her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College.

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee, for a three-year term expiring April 25, 2007:

Marta Araoz de la Torre of Florida (Public)

Meredith J. Long of Texas (International Sales Expert)

James Lorand Matory of Massachusetts (Anthropology)

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the President's Commission on White House Fellowships:

Charles A. Horner of Florida

Armstrong Williams of the District of Columbia.
