Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration:
The President intends to nominate Stuart Holliday, of Texas, to be Alternate Representative of the United States of America for Special Political Affairs in the United Nations (with the rank of Ambassador). Mr. Holliday currently serves as Coordinator in the Bureau of International Information Programs at the Department of State. He previously served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs. Prior to joining the State Department, Mr. Holliday served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director for Presidential Personnel. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Director in the Governor's Policy Office, in Austin, Texas, and as the Executive Director of the Dallas Council on World Affairs. Mr. Holliday is a former Naval Intelligence Officer and is the recipient of the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Naval Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He is a graduate of Georgetown University; he earned a master's degree from the London School of Economics and participated in the Executive Management Program at Southern Methodist University's School of Business.
