President of Romania to Visit Washington
Statement by the Press Secretary

President Bush will welcome President Ion Iliescu of Romania to the White House on October 28. Romania is a good friend of the United States and has been invited to join the NATO Alliance. Romania and the United States are working together closely to bring stability and peace to Afghanistan and Iraq. The President and President Iliescu will discuss important common challenges, including the war on terrorism, reconstruction of Iraq, and Transatlantic relations.
