Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual and appoint four individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Greta N. Morris of California, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Ms. Morris currently serves as Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the American Embassy in Indonesia. Prior to her assignment in Jakarta, Ms. Morris served as Deputy Director for Public Diplomacy in the State Department's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Her other overseas assignments include service as Public Affairs Officer in Kampala after the end of the civil war in Uganda, and as Information Center Director and Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer in Nairobi. Ms. Morris is a graduate of the University of Redlands and received a master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

The President intends to appoint Susan F. Sugai of Alaska, to be a Member of the Arctic Research Commission (Academic Representative), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring February 26, 2007.

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Board of Directors of the Valles Caldera Trust:

The President intends to appoint Tracy Hephner of New Mexico (Management of Game and Nongame Wildlife), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring January 16, 2007.

The President intends to appoint Larry Icerman of New Mexico (Financial Management), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring January 16, 2007.

The President intends to appoint Barbara H. Johnson of New Mexico (Nonprofit Conservation Organization), for the remainder of a four-year term expiring January 16, 2007.
