President to Welcome Prime Minister of Italy to Washington
Statement by the Press Secretary
Visit of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy

President Bush will host Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi for a meeting and luncheon on January 30, 2003. Italy is a staunch ally in the war on terrorism and a valuable member of NATO. This visit is one of many consultations the President is holding with friends and allies about a wide range of issues, including the situation in Iraq.
