President Bush Signs Recess Appointment of Isaac Hunt
President Bush Signed the Recess Appointment Hunt to be a Commission of the Securities and Exchange Commission
President George W. Bush today signed the recess appointment of Isaac C. Hunt, Jr. to be a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Hunt recently completed a term as a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission having been nominated in 1995, by President Clinton and sworn in on February 29, 1996. From 1987 to 1995, Mr. Hunt was Dean of the Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C. He was Principal Deputy General Counsel and Acting General Counsel at the Department of the Army in the Office of the General Counsel in both the Carter and Reagan Administrations. From 1977 to 1979, he was an associate with Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue. He was a Staff Attorney at the SEC from 1962 to 1967. Hunt has a BA from Fisk University and a JD from the University of Virginia.
