President Bush to Nominate Three Individuals to Serve in his Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate three individuals to serve in his administration.

The President intends to nominate Dunn Lampton to be United States Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi. Lampton is presently the District Attorney for the Mississippi Fourteenth Circuit where he has served since 1976. From 1976 to 1980, Lampton was also a Partner with Phillips, Regan and Lampton. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law.

The President intends to nominate Ernest L. Johnson to be United States Alternate Representative to the General Assembly of the United Nations. Johnson is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He also serves as the President and CEO of the Louisiana Community Development Capital Fund, a non-profit company that provides financial and technical assistance to small and economically disadvantaged businesses. Johnson has received numerous awards including the Human Rights Leadership Award from Freedom Magazine and the Kelly M. Alexander Award for the top NAACP State Conference President. Johnson is a graduate of Grambling State University and the Southern University Law Center.

The President intends to nominate Nancy Cain Marcus to be United States Alternate Representative to the General Assembly of the United Nations. Ms. Marcus is presently a member of the Texas Special Commission on 21st Century Colleges and Universities, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture Board of Trustees, the University of Dallas Board of Trustees, and the Dallas Women’s Foundation Advisory Board. Marcus is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and received Master’s degrees from Manhattanville College and the University of Dallas.
