President Bush to Nominate Sambur to be Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Research and Development

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate Marvin R. Sambur to be Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Research and Development.  He is currently a consultant with ITT Industries where he has served for over 25 years.  He has served in several capacities including President and CEO of ITT from 1998 to 2001, President and General Manager of the ITT Aerospace and Communications Division from 1991 to 1998 and President and General Manager of ITT's Electron Technology Division from 1988 to 1991.  A resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, he received his bachelor's degree from City College of New York, and a Master's degree and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
