Sheltered from any possible winter snow beneath the West Wing lobby entrance, two trees glow with warm hospitality for all visitors this holiday season. The White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room is adorned with crystals, iridescent glass ornaments fastened to the tree with red satin bows and topped off with soft, cotton snow.
Festive wreaths are hung in each of the windows along the East Colonnade, where red ornament balls create bold tree-like sculptures. Inspired by holly berries, decorators created brilliant, red tree sculptures from hundreds of polished glass spheres to greet visitors walking along the East Colonnade.

Red and white peppermint swirled candies accent the garland on the fireplace mantle in the Green Room. White tree lights twinkle in the shiny red and silver glass ornaments on the snow covered tabletop Christmas trees in the State Dinning Room.
The doorways in the Cross Hall are outlined with boughs of evergreen garland and trimmed with glass ornaments, painted in red, green and silver. As twilight falls over Washington, D.C., the decorations in the Blue Room remain ever bright.
