On April 20, 2006, President Bush welcomed Chinese President Hu Jintao to the White House. The visit was an opportunity for the President to work with the Chinese leader on a number of areas of mutual interest and to make progress in resolving outstanding differences. President Bush and President Hu discussed a full range of regional and international issues, including the war on terror, nonproliferation, and advancing freedom and promoting prosperity in Asia and beyond.
