Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is welcomed by a Joint Meeting of Congress as she makes her way to the rostrum of the House Chamber before her remarks at the Capitol, Wednesday, March 15, 2006. President Johnson-Sirleaf is the first democratically elected female president of an African country and won Liberia’s November 2005 presidential elections with a margin of almost 20% of the vote.
