Nancy
Dorn Confirmed as the Deputy Director of OMB
Washington,
DC -- The United States Senate confirmed today President George W.
Bushs appointment of Nancy Dorn as the Deputy Director of the Office
of Management and Budget. Ms. Dorn will oversee the preparation,
management and administration of the federal budget and government wide
management initiatives across the Executive Branch.
Prior to
the current appointment, Ms. Dorn was the Assistant to the Vice President
for Legislative Affairs. Before joining the Bush Administration, she served
as the Senior Policy Advisor to the Speaker of the House. She advised
the Speaker and the Republican leadership on defense, intelligence, trade
and foreign policy matters.
From April
1996 to July 2000, Ms. Dorn served as a partner at Hooper Owen & Winburn,
a government relations firm providing strategic advice on legislative
and executive branch matters, to corporate clients in Washington, D.C.
During President
George H.W. Bushs Administration, Ms. Dorn served as the Assistant
Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, the Deputy Assistant Secretary
of Defense for Inter-American Affairs, and the Special Assistant to the
President of the United States for Legislative Affairs. Ms. Dorn also
held the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative
Affairs during the Reagan Administration.
Prior to
her Administration appointments, Ms. Dorn held staff positions for Congressman
Tom Loeffler in both the Texas and the U.S. House of Representatives.
She received
a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
