(Rep. Boehlert (R) New York and 8 cosponsors)

The Administration is committed to improving cyber security. The President's FY 2003 Budget supports cyber security research through the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and other agencies. The Administration supports House passage of H.R. 3394 and will work with the Congress to improve the legislation as it proceeds through the legislative process. The improvements that the Administration seeks include refining the authorization levels to conform to the President's FY 2003 Budget. In addition, the Administration intends to work to better coordinate existing Federal assistance for Information Technology research programs at the national laboratories, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and universities.
