One day after terrorists used commercial airplanes to destroy the World Trade Center Towers and attack the Pentagon, firefighters take a moment to post the flag into the scarred stone as inspiration for fellow rescue workers searching through the debris Sept. 12. White House photo by Paul Morse. Dear Mr. President,

I am writing after having seen your speech this evening and your hard work over the past week. As I watched your speech I was incredibly proud. Proud of you, as President. Proud of our Country and its newfound unity. And proud of the resilience of the American people. So I had to send you an email. Just to let you know of my support.

At forty years old, I've often wondered where the heroes had disappeared to. Where were the heros of our generation? I now think I know.

Thanks again.
