One day after terrorists used commercial airplanes to destroy the World Trade Center Towers and attack the Pentagon, firefighters take a moment to post the flag into the scarred stone as inspiration for fellow rescue workers searching through the debris Sept. 12. White House photo by Paul Morse. Dear Mr. President,

Your speech tonight was glorious and inspirational. I have proudly served my country for over 21 years in the United States Air Force. I had planned on submitting my retirement paperwork next month; however, will now re-enlist as soon as I can. I'm proud to do so and proud you are my Commander. God bless you and the United States of America.

Keith

Dear Mr. President,

Just heard your speech and wish God almighty could turn the clock back and make me 30 instead of 62. I hope everyone in the world heard your speech and runs for cover if the are a part of terrorism.I know I speak for Vets all over the country when I say "if there is anything I can do for you or my country , just call on me." Thank you Mr. President.

Your servant,
Fred

Dear Mr. President,

I enjoyed your speech to congress this night. I retired from military service Apr. 1989 and wish I could return to active duty, I can't afford money or anything like that but as Patrick Henry said "I have but one life to give for my Country."

God Bless America,
James

Subject: Ready to Re-enlist

Dear Mr. President,

Hello, sir. My name is Michael. I want to tell you how proud I am to be an American. I am a former marine and would love to re-enlist, but I am too old.

Well, I am not too old or too young to realize how proud I am to be an American. Sir, I would give my life without a second thought to defend this great country. I would give my life to defend my President. I would give my life to keep my family safe.

I am writing this with tears in my eyes. Tears of American pride, love and mourning. God bless us all and if you and the nation need me, I would love to go back. I think I speak for all Americans, we are behind you. I have faith in God, my country and my President. No one can ever take that away from me no matter what they do.

God Bless America and let justice prevail.

Sincerely,
Michael
