They have brought war to our shore...

They've awakened the mighty eagle.

God Bless you, God Bless America!

Thank you for coming to New York and supporting rescue workers, survivors, family and friends of victims, and for supporting the area in general. Thank you for promising to stop terrorism -- good luck.

I live and work in New Jersey, but I have many friends and relatives who live and/or work in NYC. Luckily, everyone I know is okay. It has been extremely difficult for me driving to and from work every day, seeing (and smelling) smoke and empty space where the WTC, surrounding buildings, and people should be. I wrote this poem for myself and my loved ones in an effort to feel a little bit better. I hope this helps you and anyone else who might need to be cheered, inspired, or comforted.

"Into The Storm" by Shari

The eagle is not afraid of the storm.
We will soar into the storm with our heads held high.
Our heroes may get drenched, but they will work on.
Our hearts may have an empty space, but they will be filled again.
Our pots have melted into a lighted beacon of hope and kindness.
Our Stars and Stripes wave and cheer us on as we enter the storm.
Our friends and neighbors will support us through the storm.
Our home is righteous and free and God is with us.
The eagle is not afraid of the storm.

Sincerely,
Shari, Fair Lawn, New Jersey
