Al Leiter
Former Major League Baseball Pitcher

Al Leiter, was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1984, and the lefthander made his major league debut for the team on September 17, 1987. He played in parts of 19 Major League seasons with four teams (Yankees, 1987-'89, 2005; Toronto Blue Jays, 1989-'95; Florida Marlins, 1996-'97, 2005; and New York Mets, 1998-2004).
The 40-year old Leiter announced his retirement from baseball on March 19, after facing and retiring one batter in a Yankees spring training game against Cleveland.
One of the most popular New York baseball players in recent years, he joined the YES Network as a Yankees analyst in April 2006. Leiter primarily acts as a game analyst, although he also appears in the YES studios for select games.
