The National Book Festival 2004

Mrs. Bush's Message for the 4th Annual National Book Festival:

The National Book Festival is a wonderful opportunity to recognize and cultivate America's love for literature. From fiction to fairy tales, there is something for book lovers of all ages to enjoy at this national celebration of creativity. It is wonderful to see people from around the country attend the Festival each year to seek out their favorite authors and hear cherished American storytellers.

I hope families will continue to discover the joys of reading well beyond the festival date. I would encourage all Americans to learn about reading programs in their states, as well as the rich resources offered by the Library of Congress-America's library.
