EA Assessment
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is focused on helping agencies improve their Enterprise Architecture (EA) programs so that they will benefit from the results of using EA as a strategic planning tool. OMB is striving to help agencies link departmental-level EA throughout their operations, so that its value is reflected in both internal operational decision-making, as well as the identification of government-wide common solutions for improved service to citizens.

EA in the Budget Process
An agency submitting investments to OMB for budgetary approval must indicate in Exhibit 300s that the investments help to meet the agency goals and further its mission. Enterprise Architecture is a representation of these goals, and consequently, any investment must be consistent with the target EA and the EA Transition Strategy. This consistency is shown by mapping the investment to the FEA reference models. Guidelines for this process are included in the following documents:
