Mrs. Laura Bush and Joe Torsella, President of the National Constitution Center, listen to performance for school children noting the 221st anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution on Constitution Day. The program, in the East Room of the White House on Sept. 17, 2008, was designed to help make the children more aware of United States History. Mrs. Bush pointed out that Constitution Day is designed to encourage Americans to learn more about our country's founding documents. The performance was part of the six-year-old We the People program created by President George W. Bush. White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian
