Statement by Mrs. Bush

I'm deeply saddened by the death of my second grade teacher, Mrs. Charlene Gnagy. All of us remember the teachers who made a difference in our lives, and Mrs. Gnagy certainly shaped mine. She inspired my love of teaching by her own great example: She spent 34 years helping children build academic and personal skills that would last for a lifetime. She had a talent for making every child feel special, and like all great teachers, showed her students that there was an adult who cared about and believed in them. President Bush and I send our condolences to Mrs. Gnagy's family and friends.
