Mrs. Bush's Remarks at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting
Mrs. Laura Bush is welcomed to the podium by former President Bill Clinton Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at President Clinton's Annual Global Initiative Conference in New York. During her remarks, Mrs. Bush announced a $60 million public-private partnership between the U.S. Government and the Case Foundation to provide clean water for up to 10 million people in sub-Sahara Africa by 2010. The partnership will support the provision and installation of PlayPump water systems in approximately 650 schools, health centers and HIV affected communities.
