President to Welcome NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer to the White House

President Bush will host NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer for a meeting at the White House on March 20, 2006. The President looks forward to discussing their shared commitment to strengthen and transform the Alliance to meet current and future threats and to enhance the transatlantic partnership. The President and the Secretary General will review plans for the NATO Summit in Riga in November and discuss NATO's many vital contributions to transatlantic and global security. They will also discuss the range of issues on NATO's strategic agenda.
