Statement by the Press Secretary
Presidential Delegation to Peruvian Inauguration
The White House is pleased to announce that a Presidential Delegation headed by United States Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick will attend the July 28 inauguration of Alejandro Toledo Manrique as President of the Republic of Peru. Delegation members include Senator Lincoln Chafee, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Western Hemisphere Affairs John F. Maisto, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Lino Gutierrez, Commissioner of the Texas Railroad Commission Tony Garza, and Chairman and CEO of R.L. Vallee, Inc., Rodolphe "Skip" Vallee.
The President congratulates President-elect Toledo on his inauguration and looks forward to working with the Toledo administration to advance democratic rule of law, economic growth, and prosperity throughout the hemisphere.
