President Bush to Announce Three People to Serve in His Administration

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his administration and announced the nomination of two individuals to serve as members of the Federal Judiciary.

The President intends to nominate Johnny Young to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Slovenia. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, he is currently the Chief of Mission in Bahrain and from 1994 to 1997 served as Ambassador to Togo. Ambassador Young was the Director of the Office of Career Development and Assignments in the Bureau of Human Resources from 1992 to 1994 and held the post of Chief of Mission to Sierra Leone from 1989 to 1992. He has held a variety of positions both overseas and in Washington, D.C. and has received numerous awards for his service. He is a graduate of Temple University.

The President will nominate Laurie Smith Camp to be a Judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.

The President will nominate Paul G. Cassell to be a Judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.
